Indian‑Russian ties praised by Putin as India marks 80 years of freedom
President Vladimir Putin marked India’s 80th Independence Day with a message that glorified the nation’s progress in trade, social welfare, scientific research and high‑tech innovation. He congratulated President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that India is now enjoying genuine global respect.
The Russian leader pointed to the “special strategic partnership” that has grown between Moscow and New Delhi, highlighting cooperation in defense, energy, and especially space exploration. He cited joint participation in the United Nations, Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, BRICS and other multilateral venues as proof of a mature partnership.
Putin expressed confidence that continued joint initiatives will further deepen the friendship, enhance security, and promote shared prosperity, ending with wishes for India’s health and continued victories.
