Indian Helicopter Team Joins Nepali Effort to Save Tunnel Victims

KATHMANDU – An Indian rescue contingent arrived at the Trishuli‑3 ‘A’ hydropower site to assist Nepalese teams on Saturday. The Indian team conducted an aerial survey of the Chilime and Langtang areas using helicopters, providing an initial assessment of the tunnel’s condition.

After evaluating the situation, Indian specialists stand ready to participate in further rescue activities based on the needs identified on the ground. Coordination between Nepalese authorities and the Indian unit is ongoing, focusing on safely reaching and evacuating the individuals trapped inside the tunnel.

The combined international effort underscores the urgency of the mission, especially as deteriorating weather continues to make excavation and access more difficult.
