Indian embassy activates crisis centre following Vietnam tourist boat crash

In response to the boat disaster near Phu Quoc Island that claimed the lives of fifteen Indian citizens, the Indian Embassy in Hanoi swiftly established a crisis control room. A second coordination hub was also set up at the commercial office in Ho Chi Minh City to streamline assistance.

Officials are gathering detailed information about the incident, providing medical support to the twenty‑one injured, and keeping the families informed about the progress of the rescue mission. The embassy is maintaining close liaison with Vietnamese police and coast‑guard units.

Both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh have assured that the government will spare no effort in supporting the victims, ensuring that necessary consular services are delivered without delay.
