Indian Community Welfare in UAE Highlighted During Diplomatic Session

During the seventh India‑UAE joint consular meeting, Indian officials lauded the UAE’s ongoing programs aimed at protecting the welfare of the over three‑million Indian expatriates residing in the Gulf nation. Initiatives cited included community outreach centers, emergency medical assistance, and dedicated helplines for labour‑related grievances.

The Indian delegation remarked that these measures not only improve the day‑to‑day lives of its citizens abroad but also reinforce the trust between the two governments. In response, the UAE under‑secretary emphasized its commitment to continue and expand these services, aligning them with the broader goals of the bilateral strategic partnership.

Both sides agreed to institute an annual review mechanism to assess the effectiveness of welfare initiatives and to identify areas for further collaboration, such as skill‑development programs and cultural exchange activities.

The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation that the safety and prosperity of the Indian diaspora remain a top priority for both nations.
