Indian-American community unites for peace message ahead of Raksha Bandhan weekend

Leaders of the Indian diaspora in New York announced a large‑scale event that will highlight the principle of "Vasudhāiva Kutumbakam" – the world as one family. Scheduled for Saturday at Madison Square Garden, the program expects participation from more than 5,000 individuals representing 85 cities and all 39 U.S. states.

The gathering will blend cultural performances with spiritual chants performed by Indian‑American youth, and it will serve as a platform for inter‑religious dialogue. Speakers emphasized that peace and mutual respect can thrive even amid deep differences, reinforcing the significance of Raksha Bandhan as a symbol of protection and communal bonding.
