India’s Strategic Engagements in October: EU, US, Quad and Multilateral
The diplomatic thrust for India in October 2026 spans four major fronts. In Europe, the TEPA anniversary will be a platform to assess trade flows, investment commitments and market access for Indian firms in Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. The Swiss President’s state visit will deepen bilateral cooperation in research, skill development and green technology. Across the Pacific, the United States is expected to host senior Indian officials, reinforcing strategic ties, defense collaboration and joint work on Indo‑Pacific initiatives. The Quad, comprising India, the United States, Japan and Australia, may convene its foreign ministers to discuss cyber security, critical technology supply chains and disaster‑relief coordination. Finally, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s summit in Dushanbe on 19‑20 Oct will give India a stage to promote connectivity, counter‑terrorism cooperation and economic partnership with Central Asian members.
