India has dismissed Nepal’s claims regarding the Lipulekh Pass, stating its willingness to engage in constructive dialogue with Nepal to address the existing boundary disputes through diplomatic channels. This response follows Nepal’s objections to the recent agreement between India and China to resume border trade via Lipulekh. An official spokesperson from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) clarified that border trade through Lipulekh has been ongoing since 1954 and was temporarily disrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic and other factors. India maintains that the claims are unsupported by historical facts and evidence, and any attempts to unilaterally expand territorial claims are unacceptable. India remains open for discussion to solve the border issues.
