India backs preservation projects across Southeast Asia’s UNESCO sites

From Vietnam’s My Son sanctuary to Myanmar’s Bagan archaeological zone, India has signed multiple MoUs to restore earthquake‑damaged monuments and protect ancient Shaivite complexes. In Laos, the 1,000‑year‑old Wat Phou temple received major structural repairs. Since 2022 India has been actively conserving Cambodia’s Angkor heritage, including Ta Prohm, Angkor Wat and Preah Vihear. These initiatives demonstrate India’s dedication to safeguarding some of the world’s most celebrated Hindu heritage landscapes.
