India‑Indonesia Leaders Sign MoUs on Energy, Defence and Digital Economy

In a ceremony at Jakarta's presidential palace, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Prabowo Subianto formalised new agreements aimed at deepening collaboration across multiple sectors. The signed documents include a pact on renewable energy cooperation, a defence partnership for joint training and equipment sharing, and a framework to boost digital trade and fintech innovation.

The leaders also discussed expanding maritime cooperation, with a view to enhancing joint patrols and safeguarding sea lanes that are crucial for both economies. The agreements reflect a shared vision to build a resilient, forward‑looking partnership that benefits citizens of both countries.

Modi acknowledged President Subianto’s personal welcome at the airport, describing it as a gesture full of warmth and mutual respect, and reiterated the commitment to take the 2018 strategic partnership to an even higher level.
