Amid rising strain between Afghanistan and Pakistan, India reiterated its commitment to humanitarian assistance for the Afghan populace. Over the past weeks, New Delhi dispatched medical equipment, essential medicines, and other critical supplies to Kabul. A recent shipment of five tonnes of medicines arrived on June 17, reinforcing India's long‑standing support. Earlier, on May 22, India sent twenty tonnes of BCG, tetanus, and diphtheria vaccines to aid immunisation drives for Afghan children. The aid programme underscores India’s resolve to help Afghanistan cope with the fallout of cross‑border hostilities and to maintain stability in the broader South‑Asian corridor.
