India’s Dubai Consular Office Offers Aid After MV GFS Galaxy Tragedy

On July 15, the Indian Consular mission in Dubai announced its heartfelt condolences over the death of an Indian national aboard the MV GFS Galaxy, which was hit by a hostile act on July 12 near Oman’s shoreline. The statement highlighted that the mission is in constant touch with the victim’s family and is coordinating with United Arab Emirates authorities and the shipping company to extend every possible form of help. The deceased, marine engineer Heramb Karmarkar, went missing after the attack and his death was later verified by his relatives. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has thanked Omani officials for their cooperation in the ongoing search and rescue efforts.
