India‑Côte d'Ivoire Relations Get a Push After Minister Singh’s Visit

New Delhi – A diplomatic mission led by Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh to Côte d'Ivoire from 6 to 8 August is projected to give fresh impetus to the expanding ties between the two countries.

The Minister attended Côte d'Ivoire’s 66th Independence Day celebrations in Abidjan as the chief guest, taking part in the national parade that featured a marching detachment of Indian armed forces.

High‑level talks were held with Ivorian Foreign Minister N'Yale Kaba and President Alassane Ouattara. The dialogue covered a spectrum of issues including trade, investment, defence collaboration, security, and cultural links, with both sides pledging to fortify the multi‑layered partnership.

Singh also engaged with the Indian community residing in Côte d'Ivoire, expressing gratitude for their role in fostering cordial relations and reaffirming India’s commitment to protect and support its overseas citizens.

The Ministry of External Affairs concluded that the three‑day visit has laid a solid foundation for expanding already strong bilateral relations, opening up new opportunities for cooperation across economic, security and people‑centric domains.
