India Continues Humanitarian Aid to Afghanistan with New Medical Shipment

Keeping its promise of humanitarian support, India delivered a new cargo of medicines and medical supplies to a Kabul government hospital on Thursday. The Ministry of External Affairs shared the news on its official X handle, stressing the enduring health cooperation between the two neighbours.

The shipment is part of a broader assistance strategy that has consistently provided essential drugs, relief materials and development assistance to Afghanistan. A ministry spokesperson said that over the last year, India’s engagement with Afghanistan has grown, focusing on diplomatic talks, humanitarian relief and joint development initiatives.

Earlier this year, India sent food parcels and family tents to the National Disaster Management Authority of Afghanistan to aid flood‑affected residents of Nuristan. In June, a five‑tonne consignment of vital medicines reached Kabul, and on May 22, India dispatched 20 tonnes of BCG vaccine and tetanus‑diphtheria supplies to strengthen the country’s childhood vaccination efforts.

These coordinated efforts underscore India’s long‑standing dedication to Afghan health and overall stability.
