India Calls Out Pakistan’s Terror Links and Nuclear Technology Requests
Bedi raised alarms about Pakistan’s ongoing attempts to acquire advanced nuclear and missile technologies. He cited the Abdul Qadir Khan network, which was alleged to have exchanged nuclear know‑how for missile technology with North Korea and to have offered bomb‑making expertise to other states.
He urged all nations to exercise heightened vigilance when dealing with any Pakistani proposals for nuclear cooperation. Referring to UN Security Council resolution 1540, adopted in 2004, Bedi reminded members that the resolution bans the transfer of weapons of mass destruction to terrorist groups or non‑state actors.
The Indian adviser emphasized that responsible suppliers must prioritize their own security, not merely accommodate demand, and that unchecked proliferation could destabilise the entire region.
