India Calls Out Pakistan Over Deadly Strikes in Kunar, Paktika

At a press briefing on September 22, India’s foreign ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal condemned Pakistan’s air raid on Afghanistan’s Kunar and Paktika provinces. He stressed that the strike killed innocent civilians, expressed condolences to the families of the victims, and urged Pakistan to reflect on its actions before the international community questions it.

The Taliban’s chief spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, claimed the attacks were aimed at residential zones in Kunar, killing a woman and two men, and that a shop and a house were hit in Paktika. He warned that Afghanistan would deliver an “appropriate answer” to the aggression.

The UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) reported that cross‑border violence from April to June resulted in 57 civilian deaths and 342 injuries, holding Pakistani security elements largely responsible for those figures.
