India and Afghanistan Discuss Humanitarian Aid, Trade and Connectivity

The Joint Committee’s fourth gathering placed a strong emphasis on humanitarian assistance. India affirmed that it will continue to dispatch medicines, medical equipment and other critical aid to Afghanistan.

Trade was another focal point, with delegates examining ways to boost bilateral commerce, streamline customs procedures and expand market access for Afghan products in India.

Connectivity initiatives, including air routes, digital links and road infrastructure, were also reviewed. Both governments recognized that improved connectivity can foster greater economic integration and cultural exchange.

The session reaffirmed India’s pledge to support Afghanistan’s sovereign integrity and regional stability, echoing statements made after recent air strikes in the country.
