India’s $7.5 Billion Aid Boosts Sri Lanka’s Development

India’s financial assistance to Sri Lanka after the 2022 economic crisis has been a major factor behind the upbeat perception. New Delhi extended a credit line and aid package exceeding US $7.5 billion, including more than US $850 million in grants. The funds support development projects in all 25 districts, ranging from housing, health care and education to railways, energy and livelihood programmes, and are implemented with local materials and labour.
