Health Update: Imran Khan’s Condition Stabilises After Controversial Hospital Transfer

Islamabad – In a briefing held on Friday, Uzma Khan, sister of former prime minister Imran Khan, provided the latest details on his health status following a disputed transfer to a medical facility.

Uzma explained that after being detained in Adiala jail, Imran was moved not to the Supreme Court‑ordered Shifa International Hospital but to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), as confirmed by information minister Ataullah Tarar.

She narrated the journey, noting that police officers answered none of her questions at the jail and escorted her in a car through a poorly lit corridor, relying on a mobile phone’s torch for illumination.

Upon meeting her brother at PIMS, Imran appeared surprised and repeatedly stressed that he had endured "cruelty" during the process.

Medical assessment by Dr. Faisal Sultan indicated that Imran’s blood pressure is within normal limits and his eyesight shows improvement. However, a slight internal bleed remains, requiring ongoing monitoring.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan criticized the federal response, labeling the disregard for the Supreme Court’s three‑judge order as an affront to the judicial system and urging uniform enforcement of court decisions across the country.
