A devastating improvised explosive device (IED) attack has claimed the lives of six Pakistani soldiers, including a Captain, in the Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The incident occurred on Wednesday when a military convoy was ambushed in the Sultani area, close to the Afghan border. Terrorists reportedly opened fire and detonated an explosive device, leading to the tragic loss of one officer and five personnel. In a swift response, security forces engaged the militants, resulting in the deaths of seven assailants during the ensuing firefight. A cordon and search operation has been launched to ensure the area’s security and apprehend any remaining threats. This incident highlights the ongoing security challenges in the region.
