Human Rights Groups Call for Investigation into Balochistan Kidnappings

Human‑rights advocates in Balochistan have issued a joint statement demanding an independent inquiry into the alleged kidnapping of three civilians by Pakistani security forces. The victims include a 20‑year‑old driver, Azeezullah, taken during a raid on 29 June in Panjgur’s Perum area, and shopkeeper Umar Jan Baloch, who vanished from the Chitkan market on the same day.

Both cases feature reports of a state‑aligned armed contingent operating with the security troops, transporting the men to secret locations whose coordinates remain unknown. The Baloch National Movement’s rights wing has appealed to the Pakistani government for immediate disclosure of the detainees’ whereabouts, assurance of their safety, and legal redress if any unlawful detention is confirmed.

The statement also highlights the repeated abduction of Ahmad Mengal from Khuzdar’s Jakhurbad neighbourhood on 26 May, noting that this is his third enforced disappearance. Organisations stress that such acts constitute grave breaches of international law and call for rapid, transparent action to prevent further violations.
