According to Saudi civil aviation authorities, the attacks involved ballistic missiles and drones aimed at Abha International Airport and the King Khalid International Airport, as well as a nearby air base in the Asir region. Houthi spokesperson Yahya Sareya claimed responsibility, while the Saudi‑led coalition said it intercepted two missiles en route to Riyadh and the Asir area. The escalation marks the most intense fighting since the 2022 UN‑brokered ceasefire in Yemen.
