Houthi group claims responsibility for Aden palace strike
Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Sari used his X account to assert that the missile attack on Aden’s presidential palace was carried out by the rebel forces. He emphasized that the warning about unsafe Saudi Arabian airspace does not cover the skies over the Islamic holy cities of Mecca and Medina.
Earlier on the same day, Sari clarified that the Houthis had not launched any daytime attacks toward Saudi territory, countering claims made by Saudi officials that a strike had been directed at Medina. The spokesperson’s statements highlight the ongoing information war that accompanies the kinetic conflict in Yemen.
The Saudi‑led coalition, which supports the Aden‑based government, announced that it had downed three unmanned aerial systems north of Riyadh, describing the action as part of its broader effort to protect Saudi airspace amid rising Houthi threats.
