Hong Kong Naval Base Hosts PLA 99th Birthdate Ceremony
Beijing, August 2 – The People’s Liberation Army’s Hong Kong garrison celebrated its 99th founding day at the Ngong Shuen Chau Naval Base. The ceremony, which began at 5 p.m., featured the traditional march song and speeches from senior officials, including the chief executive of the Hong Kong SAR and the head of the Hong Kong Security Office. Political commissar Lai Rushing emphasized the soldiers’ unwavering loyalty to the Party, the reinforcement of training standards, and their readiness to protect Hong Kong’s enduring stability and growth. Cultural performances by PLA troops added a festive touch, while roughly 400 participants, ranging from senior government cadres to community leaders and former servicemen, witnessed the event.
