Historic diplomatic trip sees Murmu visit three Eastern European states after three decades

President Draupadi Murmu's European tour marks a milestone in India's foreign outreach. The seven‑day state visit, scheduled between July 19 and July 25, brings the Indian head of state to Moldova, North Macedonia and Romania for the first time in many years.

Secretary (West) Sibu George highlighted that the trip reflects New Delhi's commitment to deepening relationships with Central and Eastern European nations. The agenda includes meetings with presidents, signing of memoranda of understanding in the fields of trade, technology and tourism, and discussions on regional security cooperation. The mission also aims to showcase Indian advancements in digital technology to potential partners in the three countries.
