A collective of roughly 1,800 volunteers succeeded in pulling the 360‑ton central keep of Hiroshaki Castle back toward its original location in Aomori prefecture. The operation, carried out over a weekend, used 30‑metre ropes attached to a rail‑like system, moving the structure 1.13 m on Saturday and 1.09 m on Sunday.
