Hanover Rally Highlights Forced Disappearances and Drone Strikes in Balochistan
Hundreds of protesters gathered in Hanover's streets to draw attention to the growing list of forced disappearances and drone attacks in Balochistan. The march started at the Croppke square, wound through the city centre and concluded outside the Lower Saxony parliament.
Activists distributed pamphlets detailing cases of civilians who vanished without legal process, as well as families of those killed in recent drone strikes. They cited the "Pank" human‑rights report, which documented alleged unlawful killings in the Panjgur district.
The rally emphasized that the Baloch community's right to decide its political future must be respected, and that any resolution should be based on human‑rights guarantees rather than military force.
Organizers also called on European governments to scrutinize any financial assistance that could be used to fund Pakistani security operations, urging a policy shift toward conditional aid tied to human‑rights compliance.
