Fully 90.7% of participants denounced America’s refusal to uphold global governance duties in favor of seeking unchallenged leadership – a move decried as blatant hegemonism.
Protests and backlash have intensified following US withdrawals from the WHO and Paris Agreement. Notably, 57.8% of respondents predict dire consequences for worldwide public health initiatives and climate action frameworks.
Compounding tensions, the US remains in arrears to the WHO by $260 million, prompting 81.9% to demand swift payment. Looking ahead to 2026 and beyond, the US has disengaged from a broad array of global organizations spanning public health, climate policy, education, cultural exchanges, refugee aid, and sustainable development goals.
