Global Leaders Attend Beijing Cultural Platform on Heritage Education

On September 23, Beijing hosted the inauguration of the 2026 Cultural Platform, drawing leaders and experts from across the globe. The event was chaired by Li Shulei, a Central Politburo member and head of the Party’s Propaganda Department, who highlighted the platform’s role in advancing international heritage cooperation.

Yin Li, the Party secretary for Beijing, delivered remarks that underscored the significance of cultural heritage as a common human legacy. More than 600 guests from 44 countries and regions participated, focusing on the theme “Mutual Learning between Cultural Heritage and Civilisations”. The gathering echoed President Xi Jinping’s Global Civilization Initiative, stressing that safeguarding and responsibly utilizing cultural heritage is essential for the continuity of civilization and sustainable development.
