Gender‑Based Violence Statistics Reveal Over 3,000 Cases in First Half of 2026

A comprehensive review released in July documented 3,172 gender‑based violence cases in Pakistan for the first six months of 2026. The tally includes 280 rapes, 132 honor killings, 514 torture incidents, 462 kidnappings, 363 suicides, and 644 murders, along with 21 other offenses such as gang‑rape and pornography. Victims aged 21‑30 accounted for 334 cases, those 11‑20 for 306, and 31‑40 for 120. In 27 % of crimes, perpetrators were known to the victims; 24 % were strangers, and 13 % were husbands. The data were compiled from newspapers across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory, and the administered regions of Kashmir and Gilgit‑Baltistan.
