Fourth India‑Singapore Ministerial Round‑Table Set for Thursday Amid Growing Geopolitical Dialogue

The fourth edition of the India‑Singapore Ministerial‑Level Round‑Table (ISM R) is slated to commence on Thursday in Singapore, bringing together senior officials from both capitals to sharpen cooperation on strategic, economic, and security fronts. The agenda builds on the momentum generated by the recent meeting between External Affairs Ministers S. Jaishankar and Vivian Balakrishnan.

Key participants alongside Minister Jaishankar will include Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, and State Minister for Commerce and Industry and Electronics & Information Technology Jitin Prasad. Their presence signals a comprehensive, cross‑ministerial approach to deepening ties.

The ISM R platform, launched in September 2022, has evolved to incorporate new thematic areas such as digital governance, supply‑chain resilience, and climate action. The upcoming round aims to solidify joint positions on the Indo‑Pacific geopolitical landscape, enhance maritime cooperation, and explore collaborative projects in clean technology and semiconductor manufacturing.

Both sides view the round‑table as an essential mechanism for translating high‑level dialogue into actionable policies that benefit their economies and promote regional stability.
