Foreigners Without Valid Documents Detained by Delhi Authorities
Delhi’s law‑enforcement agencies have stepped up actions against foreign nationals staying in the capital beyond the expiry of their visas. The Outer District Foreigners Cell, assisted by local police, conducted a series of checks in areas such as Piragadhi Chowk and DDA Park.
Three Bangladeshi residents – identified as Shihab Sanjid, Mohammad Arman Mian and Mehdi Hasan Rabbani – were intercepted after attempts to flee the surveillance zone. None could present a valid passport or visa, confirming their illegal presence.
After interrogation and document verification, the three were placed in custody and deportation procedures were initiated. Similar operations across West Vihar East, Nihal Vihar and other precincts have resulted in the detention of additional overstayers, reinforcing the city’s commitment to uphold immigration laws.
