Foreign Minister Jaishankar Engages Oman’s Indian Community Ahead of Global Summits

On July 10, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar visited Oman after concluding his official program in Kuwait. He met with leaders of the Indian community in Muscat, expressing gratitude for their role in bolstering the India‑Oman partnership and emphasizing the importance of their contributions to trade, energy, and cultural bridges.

Jaishankar’s post on the X platform highlighted the community’s enthusiasm for deepening bilateral ties and lauded their efforts in supporting joint projects that benefit both nations.

The minister’s Kuwait itinerary had included a meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al‑Ahmad Al‑Sabah, where he praised Kuwait’s assistance to Indians living there and reaffirmed shared strategic interests.

In the coming days, Jaishankar will travel to New York on July 13 to kick off India’s official campaign for the 2028‑29 United Nations Security Council seat, followed by participation in the third India‑EU Trade and Technology Council meeting in Brussels on July 14‑15, where he will engage with EU and Belgian officials.
