First US Diplomat Visit to Jammu‑Kashmir Since 2019 Highlights Bilateral Ties

Sergio Gor arrived in Srinagar on Wednesday, marking the first time a U.S. ambassador has travelled to the former state after the abrogation of special status in August 2019. He described the area as "stunningly beautiful" and said the warm reception underscored the desire to deepen U.S.–India engagement, especially on security and development matters that can be addressed at the highest levels.
