Families in Flood‑Hit Balochistan Face Uncertainty After Aid Reallocation

The sudden removal of housing assistance has left thousands of flood‑victim families scrambling for basic needs. With monthly incomes ranging from under $30 to $70, many households cannot afford to repair temporary shelters, purchase food, or pay for health and education expenses. Some families may be forced to take high‑interest loans or sell productive assets, while others could remain in unsafe, damaged homes, increasing their vulnerability to future floods, storms, earthquakes or extreme heat. The World Bank warned that such financial strain could deepen social exclusion, erode trust in government programs and heighten the risk of civil unrest.
