Evaluation highlights BRICS NDB's effective cooperation with China
The New Development Bank of the BRICS grouping has issued a comprehensive China Country Portfolio Evaluation Report, reviewing 27 projects sanctioned between July 2015 and December 2024. The independent appraisal unit of the bank conducted the analysis.
The document finds that the overall collaboration between the NDB and China has been "successful," with the Chinese loan portfolio emerging as one of the bank's largest country‑specific commercial segments worldwide. The portfolio excels across four pillars: local‑currency (RMB) financing, project implementation efficiency, sustainable technology innovation, and adherence to compliance standards.
By documenting these outcomes, the report offers a scalable template for multilateral development institutions aiming to deliver high‑impact, sustainable, and inclusive infrastructure solutions for emerging markets.
