From East to West: Sunpath Tiranga Relay Celebrates 150 Years of Vande Mataram

The Sunpath Tiranga Global Relay, launched under the "Har Ghar Tiranga" initiative, served as a moving tribute to the 150th anniversary of the iconic anthem "Vande Mataram." Beginning at sunrise in Fiji, the relay traveled across continents, symbolically carrying the Indian flag from one sunrise to the next.

Diplomatic missions in Europe, Africa, South America and the Caribbean each hoisted the tricolour at dawn, reinforcing the message that the spirit of the nation transcends borders. The relay's passage through Brazil, Suriname, Guyana, Argentina, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Dominican Republic showcased the widespread presence of the Indian diaspora.

The final flag‑raising in San Francisco was accompanied by remarks emphasizing the relay's role in uniting Indian missions worldwide around a shared heritage. The event also highlighted the Ministry's "Know India" quiz, where top participants received certificates, further engaging the community in national pride.
