Special Representative Dobhal to Discuss LAC Stability with Wang Yi

New Delhi, 24 August – National Security Advisor Azit Dobhal is in Beijing for the 25th special‑representative meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, focusing on maintaining stability along the Line of Actual Control.

The two‑day engagement will scrutinise the current position of the LAC, review previous confidence‑building measures, and consider new steps for border management. Earlier on 6 August, both countries had already exchanged views on boundary demarcation, management systems and cross‑border cooperation.

The Indian side, represented by Joint Secretary Sujit Ghosh, will push for the swift convening of the expert‑level mechanism on trans‑boundary rivers, while also highlighting the importance of sharing technical data on ongoing projects in the higher reaches of the frontier.

Chinese officials, led by Hou Yanki, reiterated their willingness to continue using diplomatic and military dialogue routes, including WMCC and commander‑level talks, to avoid misunderstandings and foster a stable border environment.
