Diplomatic Round‑up: Recent India‑Bangladesh Engagements Highlight Ongoing Cooperation
New Delhi – On 4 October, Foreign Minister S. Jaisankar met Bangladesh’s outgoing High Commissioner, Riyaz Hameedullah, in a farewell session that praised the diplomat’s work in strengthening cross‑border ties.
Jaisankar shared his appreciation on the X platform, noting the pleasure of meeting the high commissioner and wishing him success in future endeavors.
Hameedullah, who began his tenure in April after serving as Secretary (West) at Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is leaving after a brief but impactful assignment.

That same day, Trivedi also sat with State Minister of External Affairs Humayun Kabir, exploring ways to reinforce bilateral cooperation.
A September‑29 update from the Indian High Commission highlighted Trivedi’s congratulatory exchange with State Minister Kabir, emphasizing continued collaboration for the benefit of both nations.
Earlier, on 22 September, India’s foreign ministry reiterated its commitment to a positive, constructive and future‑focused relationship with Bangladesh, affirming willingness to negotiate all matters under existing arrangements.
