Customs Streamlines Green Channel and Direct Airport Export for Tibet

Beijing – Lhasa Customs announced the continuation of its green‑channel system, a streamlined clearance path that covers the full logistics chain from local warehouses to the seaport. The initiative reduces paperwork, speeds up inspections and enables instant release of specialty goods.

A new direct‑airport export lane has also been opened for the first time, allowing producers of Tibetan specialty items to ship their products by air without intermediate handling. This addition complements existing rail, road and postal routes, creating a robust multimodal export network.

These steps form part of a broader effort to enhance trade efficiency for the Qinghai‑Tibet Plateau’s unique industries, providing faster market access and reinforcing the region’s role in national export growth.

Customs officials say the combined effect of the green channel and air‑export route is already visible in the 18.7 percent surge in export value recorded for the first half of the year.
