The Dehradun gathering highlighted the urgency of tightening cooperation to combat a wide range of cross‑border crimes. Representatives from both ministries stressed the importance of real‑time data exchange to intercept narcotics, prohibited substances, wildlife products, and illegal arms shipments. Nepal also brought attention to the growing problem of cyber‑enabled fraud that exploits the porous frontier. In response, the two sides agreed to deploy advanced surveillance equipment, including high‑definition cameras, at vulnerable locations along the border. The joint statement called for continuous dialogue and swift action to neutralise criminal networks operating in the region.
