In the wake of a hard-fought ceasefire between America and Iran, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Congress MP, has lauded the spirit of the Iranian populace. Posting on X Wednesday, she declared, ‘Hatred, rage, violence, and injustice never prevail. Courage always does.’ She spotlighted how Iranians linked arms in a human shield around vital assets, defying Western threats that vowed to erase their ancient civilization.
The conflict ignited on February 28 with the assassination of Iran’s supreme leaders, leading to a tense two-week standoff involving the US, Israel, and Iran. Jairam Ramesh, Congress communication chief, called for measured global endorsement of the truce. He drew attention to Pakistan’s pivotal mediation, challenging the Modi government’s approach to portraying Pakistan as a failed state.
‘Post-Mumbai attacks, Manmohan Singh isolated Pakistan effectively. But now, a fractured, donor-dependent Pakistan has mediated successfully,’ Ramesh observed. This feat exposes flaws in India’s diplomatic playbook. He questioned the sudden suspension of ‘Operation Sindoor’ last May, initially revealed by US officials, with the President touting it scores of times.
Ramesh lambasted the muted response to inflammatory language from Washington and Tel Aviv. ‘Dismissing Pakistan as a broker earlier, the self-styled global mentor is now unmasked. Their bravado has shrunk,’ he wrote. With sighs of relief echoing worldwide, Priyanka’s words resonate as a beacon of hope, affirming that moral fortitude outlasts aggression.
