Congress Demands Answers as Nvidia's Planned Korean Trip Falls Apart

A high‑profile trip to South Korea by Madison Huang, the daughter of Nvidia’s chief executive Jensen Huang, was abruptly cancelled, sources said. The visit was supposed to include participation in the Nvidia AI Day Seoul 2026 at the COEX convention centre and meetings with senior South Korean officials.

The cancellation was attributed to personal family matters, but the sudden change coincides with mounting foreign‑media claims that a woman close to Jensen Huang is suspected of providing intelligence to China. Some analysts think the allegations may have prompted the decision.

In Washington, three chairmen of House committees have written to Jensen Huang requesting clarification on his relationship with the businesswoman implicated in the spying reports and on the company's security measures designed to block espionage. The request, dated November 4, asked the CEO to confirm a closed‑door briefing date or propose another by November 11.

The letter references accusations involving Alice Huang of MegSpeed and notes that no subpoena has been issued. The committee chairs—Brian Mast (Foreign Affairs), John Moolenaar (China Select), and Rick Crawford (Intelligence)—all Republicans, argue that Congress must determine whether U.S. national security has been jeopardized.

Nvidia defended its executive’s routine client interactions, stating that customers receive regular commercial updates rather than sensitive trade secrets or classified material. A spokesperson added that Jensen Huang meets thousands of corporate leaders each year and that any potential threat would be reported to U.S. officials.
