Communal tension spreads across Terai, army deployed under curfew

The Sunseri clash ignited communal friction that quickly spread to neighboring Terai districts. Heavy checkpoints were set up in four districts and an indefinite curfew imposed from Thursday night. Additional restrictions were placed in Parsa as unrest threatened to spill over. Police, the Armed Police Force and army units were ordered to use minimal force, with live ammunition permitted only as a last resort.
