CMG Aims to Strengthen Film Industry and Tourism in Wuhan
On August 5, the CMG Film Culture Carnival was inaugurated in Wuhan, a joint effort by China Media Group and the municipal administration, operating under the supervision of the National Film Administration. Deputy Director Yu Chunshang of CMG remarked that the carnival serves as a catalyst for higher‑quality filmmaking and supports the creation of a robust cultural nation. He anticipates that the partnership with Wuhan will accelerate development in the film sector, boost tourism, and invigorate the local economy.
Wuhan Party Secretary Shang Yuechun pointed out the city’s huge cinema audience, which logged 24.53 million visits last year and produced box‑office revenue above 97 crore yuan, securing the eighth spot nationally. He believes the carnival will raise film consumption rates and further the industry's expansion.
The launch ceremony was accompanied by a program of cultural performances, with attendance from officials, journalists, and representatives of film companies and business organisations.
