CJTFOIR Names New Leader as Counter‑ISIS Operations Continue

On August 11, the Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF‑OIR) formally transferred command in the Middle East. Major General Kevin Lambert handed over authority to Rear Admiral Liam Hulin. The ceremony marked the official hand‑over of a U.S.-led task force that supports partner forces in Iraq and Syria against ISIS. Admiral Brad Cooper, commander of U.S. Central Command, praised Lambert's dedication during his tenure.
