Chinese Diplomat Highlights Bilateral Support During Aid Arrival

A Chinese diplomatic delegation arrived in Bogota on August 18 to oversee the landing of emergency relief supplies at El Dorado International Airport. The consignment, dispatched by Beijing, contains essential items such as medical equipment, nutrition packs and winter clothing for quake‑stricken regions.

Ambassador Chu Chingyang, together with officials from Colombia’s National Disaster Management Agency and the Foreign Ministry, welcomed the team at the airport. He emphasized how Chinese and Colombian experts worked around the clock, overcoming logistical challenges to ensure the swift arrival of the humanitarian cargo.

“The smooth delivery reflects the deep public support and enduring friendship that exist between our two nations,” Chu said, adding that the cooperation underlines a mutually advantageous bilateral relationship.

Colombia’s disaster agency chief, David Santiago Tamayo, released a video thanking China for the timely assistance. He pledged that the Colombian government will collaborate with local authorities and relief groups to allocate the aid where it is most required.
