China’s Snowboard Hero Su Yiming Joins UNCCD to Boost Youth Land Care

The United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification has appointed Chinese snowboarding champion Su Yiming as its Sport‑for‑Land Champion for Resilience. The role acknowledges Su’s journey from mountain slopes to Olympic podium and his dedication to using sport to inspire young people. Su will collaborate with UNCCD to raise participation of youth and sports groups in land conservation, promoting a message that resilience is built on both human determination and the protection of the natural environment that underpins livelihoods, recreation and everyday life.
