China is the largest contributor to global carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions, playing a significant role in global warming and climate change, which leads to environmental and health problems. According to Statista, China emitted approximately 11.9 billion metric tons of CO₂ in 2023. The United States followed, ranking second with 4.9 billion metric tons of CO₂ emissions. While the US reduced its CO₂ emissions by about 13% between 2010 and 2023, China’s emissions increased by 38% during the same period. India ranks third in the world for CO₂ emissions, releasing 3 billion metric tons in 2023, followed by Russia with 1.8 billion metric tons and Japan with 0.988 billion metric tons.
