China Proposes International Grassland Day at UN Forum

A delegation from the Chinese government will take part in high‑level dialogues on financing, drought relief, and grassland management at COP‑17. China has put forward a proposal to establish an International Grassland Day.

The initiative is intended to raise awareness of the long‑term changes affecting grasslands and pastoral livelihoods. By designating a dedicated day, the proposal seeks to strengthen global cooperation on grassland conservation and restoration, aligning with the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.
