A recent transport‑energy summit in Wuhan revealed that China’s highway service areas now host 85,400 charging installations, covering over 98 % of the nation’s rest‑area network.
The rapid rollout is part of a broader strategy to finish the charging layout and fine‑tune the system. Data from the first half of the year shows a 60.2 % rise in electricity supplied by public chargers compared with the same period last year.
In parallel, the country’s public‑transport greening is advancing quickly. By 2025’s close, new‑energy buses are expected to total 551,400 – 87.5 % of all buses – while new‑energy taxis should reach 650,900, representing 49.2 % of the taxi fleet.
